Caring about open source
The other day I was watching an awesome (a bit old) talk by Steve Klabnik where he emphasised about caring more about what open source software we are using. Since that day I started feeling guilty because almost everything that I use is open source, but I’ve never made an effort to know more about it.
Expanding Steve’s thoughts, I started thinking that the habit of reading and understanding open source is really important, he’s right, it will make you grow as a developer and be more proficient in a desired tool, you’re no longer just learning how to use something you’re also learning what this does, thus, it will make you more secure about every line of code you write.
